Are You Jealous?

If you say you've never been a bit jealous of anyone or anything before - you are a dirty liar, darling.

Feeling envious of someone close to you? It's actually okay, we all do. You might not necessarily agree to this, but I think jealousy is a pretty normal emotion. It's what you do about it eventually that determines if you're a witch or not. There are healthy ways to handle this feeling.

  • Acknowledge and accept your feelings. It's normal to feel jealous once in a while. Don't beat yourself up over it. Instead, try to understand why you're feeling this way. Is it because you're comparing yourself to your friend/partner or feeling left out?
  • Try to figure out what is causing your jealousy. Are you envious of your friend or partner's success? Or are you unhappy with your own situation and feel like you're falling behind?

  • Talk to someone you trust. It could be a friend, family member, or therapist. Sharing your feelings with someone can help you gain a different perspective and feel less alone. Plus, they might have some helpful advice.

  • Focus on your own goals. Remember that your journey is unique and your friend/partner's success doesn't diminish your own. Set your own goals and work towards them. Celebrate your own wins, no matter how small they may seem. If you're feeling stuck in your own situation, take steps to improve it.

  • Practice gratitude. Take a moment to appreciate the good things in your life. Write a list of things you're thankful for or say them out loud. Gratitude can shift your focus from what you don't have to what you do have.

  •  Support your friend/partner. It's natural to feel a little envious, but that doesn't mean you can't be happy for them. Cheer them on and celebrate their success. Being a supportive friend/partner can improve your relationship and make you feel better too.

  •  Avoid social media comparisons. Social media can be a breeding ground for comparison and envy. Remember that people usually only share their highlight reel. Take a break from social media if you need to and focus on your own journey.

  •  Lastly, be kind to yourself. Managing jealousy can be hard, but it's important to remember that you're doing your best. Don't compare yourself to others and remember that everyone has their own struggles. Be kind to yourself and keep moving forward.
